What you can submit

Word limits are indicative; well-justified exceptions are welcome, especially for data-rich convergent studies.

The process

From submission to publication

Step 01

Submit

Upload your manuscript, figures and declarations through the editorial system.

Step 02

Editorial screening

A subject editor assesses scope, novelty and the strength of convergence.

Step 03

Peer review

Expert reviewers evaluate rigour, reproducibility and cross-level integration.

Step 04

Revision

Authors refine the manuscript in response to reviewer and editor feedback before a final decision is reached.

Step 05

Decision & publication

On acceptance, your article is published open access and assigned a DOI.

Preparation

Submission checklist

  • Manuscript in editable format (DOCX or LaTeX), with line numbers.
  • A structured abstract and 4–8 keywords.
  • Figures and tables at publication resolution, cited in order.
  • An explicit statement of the convergence — which levels are integrated and how they interpret one another.
  • Ethics approval / consent statements for human or animal research.
  • Data- and code-availability statements.
  • Author contributions, funding, and conflict-of-interest disclosures.
  • Adherence to relevant reporting guidelines (PRISMA, ARRIVE, STROBE, etc.).
